I’ve been tagged!

May from Palm Discovery was nice enough to tag me as part of the Meme Challenge. In the next couple days I will be tagging five other people to keep the momentum going.

If you have a few minutes you have to check out May’s site Palm Discovery. It is a great site and has a wealth of information.

Did you know?

Did you know that there are many ways to get to any site? Some sites that might be blocked at the office are still accessible if you use the right tool. There are plenty of anonymous proxy sites that allow you to access content that is blocked. Just Google anonymous proxy and you will find many sites that will allow you to get just about anywhere.

The great thing about this is that you can get to sites where you might be persona non grata.

Isn’t technology grand!

How was your holiday?

We had a great time at the Trotto house. The family was here there was more than enough food and everyone was happy with their gifts. I was spoiled this year. I got a Garmin GPS offroad lights for my truck and Bose in ear headphones for my iPod.

I think the only way I would have been disappointed this year is if I had gotten a Zune 🙂

Merry Christmas

T’was the night before Christmas and all round  the net not a creature was stirring not one single bit. The postings were done and the online gifts bought. The big box stores are all restocked and dark. The stockings were hung filled with gadgets and gifts, a cell phone for Sam and a GPS for Nick.

The batteries are charged and the services activated all ready for the barrage that Christmas morning brings.  What a glorious time for geeks and gadget freaks.  Will they get a new Blue Ray or UMPC?

These gadgets and gizmos that are so appealing are they taking away from that true Christmas feeling?

So take this time to enjoy all the blessing we have and let us not forget, that Christmas is a time for family and friends and to remember our saviors birth.

Merry Christmas

Thanks for the kind words

This is from a Microsoft MVP. I wonder what Microsoft would say if they knew how some of ther MVP’s acted?

“He is sleeze, a liar, a bully and story thief”

As you can clearly see I always give credit where credit is due.

Thanks for the kind words!

Jack Stop Your Whining

I think it is pretty sad when someone cannot get over the fact that they are no longer a part of group or a website. Jack the owner of experience mobility has been accusing the site he used to contribute to, Mobility Today and myself of stealing his stories. Mind you these are not his stories but ones that are on all of the major wire services that everyone can access. Using Jack’s logic I suppose we could say the same about him but what would it accomplish.

The last time that I checked Jack did not write for Yahoo or Google news. He claims that he has log files of my visits to his site. Of course he does. That is one of the sites that I check out along with many others on a daily basis. I aslo know that he visits both this blog and Mobility Today. I really can’t see what this proves. I thought the whole idea of having a website was to get people to visit.

What I can tell you is that experience mobility is not a site that we get our news from.  All of the posts that I submit to Mobility Today include the source of the story. I also receive press releases from various sources that are also given credit when the story is posted on Mobility Today.

I think it is sad that people have to act this way.  I have stated this before that on any given day it is a good chance that most tech sites run the same stories. What Jack fails to mention is that he helped me to get started posting stories and provided me with a lot of the sites that he goes to get his stories as well as RSS feeds. It was a great help then and it is a great help now. Finding and posting stories is not rocket science. Jack do yourself a favor. If you feel that I am stealing your stories, which they are not, ban me from your site I could really care less. I honestly can’t believe a grown man would act like this.

Jack also goes on to say that I leave him a message on Skype. As you may or may not know Skype has this slick feature that allows you to post a little message next to your name. I have most certainly made comments in that space.  The last time I checked the First Amendment stood for freedom of speech. If you don’t like what I post or what I have to say that is just to freaking bad. This is my blog and I’ll write what I want about whom I want. If you don’t like it you have don’t read it. Honestly I am surprised that I am on your contact list I dumped you from mine a long time ago.

Jack  you should focus your efforts on other pursuits. If you remember correctly it was your decision to leave because you could not respect the rules of the site.  None of us are entitled to anything. Dave created the site, pays for the site, and this gives him the right to set the rules. It does not matter if you or I agree with them or not. If we want to be a part of the community we have to abide by them. Dave does not owe us anything. We are volunteers and do this as a hobby we don’t do this to make money.

As far a Dave is concerned he is a great person and a very good  friend. I will always stand by him. Do friends dissagree? Absolutely! However true friends work out their differences. Apparently this is not a concept you are familiar with.

There are a lot of people out there that don’t like Dave becasue of his success and the fact that he does not play the kiss ass game. I respect him for that.

I have been a member of the site for a long time, longer than you Jack.  In all that time I have never had any issues with Dave and he has always been a standup person.

Jack you left almost a year ago and since that time it has been your mission to discredit Dave and Mobility Today every chance you get. I think it that it is high time you get over your petty jealousy, start acting like an adult, and stop your whining.

P.S.

Happy  Holidays!
